Newcomer Pub of the Year – The Bell, Tring

It is our pleasure to announce that the Mid-Chilterns CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2024 is The Bell, Tring.

“A 17th century coaching house, best newcomer? Yes, that’s right.

Though the brickwork of this boozer is likely pockmarked from years of pint-pulling and people hosting, The Bell in Tring’s current form is as fresh as it gets.

A sympathetic overhaul has happened at The Bell, overseen by managing Farr Brew, of Hertfordshire brewing acclaim. Unlike brewery taps of the 17th century, this central-Tring premise offers high-end wine and food menus, complementing a range of brewery-fresh ales, though expected, notably well-kept and served.

Four cask beers from the local brewer (headed up by Nick Farr and Matt Elvidge) showcase a range of styles, including Farr’s award-winning Farr Apart and Lock In. Fan favourite staples such as Farr Bitter and Porter can be enjoyed amongst the newly furnished interior, or swigged merrily in a spruced up and aesthetic courtyard beer garden. Proper Sunday roasts round off weeklong services of locally sourced and tasty food.

Opened to much fanfare on May 17th, now running with regular open mic and quiz nights, The Bell in Tring is a traditional brewery alehouse with all the trimmings of a modern community space – truly the best of both worlds. Long may it continue!”

Congratulations to Alberto and his wonderful team at The Bell in Tring, your ‘Best Newcomer Pub of the Year’ for 2024.
