It is our pleasure to announce that the Mid-Chilterns CAMRA Community Pub of the Year for 2025 is The Anchor, Bourne End.

“Congratulations to Julie, Don and the team at The Anchor in Bourne End, Community Pub of the Year 2025.

The Mid-Chilterns CAMRA committee would like to commend the team at The Anchor in Bourne End for their efforts since reopening in May of 2024.

This lovely village pub has been plushly restored, retaining its warm and traditional feel. In less than a year, Julie and Don have overseen charity quizzes, street food evenings, santa visits, Halloween spooktaculars, a Burns Night supper and even a ‘Traitors Finale’ screening.

A rotating mix of live musicians and food vendors keep things fresh, with a newly in-house menu now running Tuesday evenings through Thursday. Local producers are supported by The Anchor, featuring Tring Brewery, Puddingstone Distillery, Chiltern Coldpressed Oils and more.

Highlights of the refurbishment, the beer garden and games room, provide solace and entertainment for residents of the village and impressed visitors from nearby Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead.”
